tell me something i don't know.

so... these are among the few movies i've watched recently

watched at my place over brunch (dapau-ed kayu nasi kandar)
we were supposed to watch it weeks before, after our bonodori
but delayed, thanks to our CHEAP pirated dvd that wouldn't play at all.
anyway weeks later (due to procrastination), we brought the dvd back to the shop
they changed another one for us.
and when they tested it, it played absolutely fine...


but then...
when we played the disc. this time it did play.
after a while, it got stuck. again..
skipped the first few chapters (can't play at all), then continued at the middle part that was slightly better, ignoring the occasional stucks la
so basically what we did was:
stuck? skip. okay? watch.


lesson we learnt:
please never ever buy dvds from that shop again.

back to the movie
as expected, typical storyline with an oh-so-predictable happy ending. well the reason we wanted to watch this was because of:

a.) the title.
(material girls watching material girls =.=)

b.) hilary duff.
she's like so super skinny now!
way back then was her lizzie mcguire and cinderella story days... such a big difference!


so i rate this movie at..

yes this movie is sooooooooo good
so glad that we finally watched it!~ and please do watch if you haven't

grumpy aka mr. fredricksen
&
fatboy aka russell

yes i meant 'fatboy', not 'eatboy'. haha..
anyway fatboy is so cute!! grumpy too!
and the talking dog too.. bird that loves chocolate. everyone. except the bad guy. lol
the ellie & carl part is so sweet and touching. can cry!

fat boy (annoying but cute!) and grumpy (his walking stick with tennis balls)

and there was this cute little boy sitting nearby us.
kept asking his mum about the movie with his squeaky baby-ish voice (too young maybe don't understand)
mummy why this why that
okay i may have made it sound irritating. but its not.. really cute la!
(hence, annoying=cute? hmm.. sounds weird)
then on the way out, realised that we were in a cinema full of small kids and families.
reason being: public holiday. gsc tropicana city. family movie
=.=

Up is really really good.
first:
good animation.
second:
not like the others. not meaningless. in fact its kinda deep.
about dreams, reality, dreams shattered by reality, love, death etc..
third:
funny. but not lame.
fourth:
cute characters. cute until i dunno what to say!

and yes i too find myself quite like the oldman mr. fredricksen
haha yes, no need to elaborate.

Note to Michi : I totally get what u mean. Agree. Memang very us. We are very him.

got free tickets for the hitzfm movie screening yesterday @ gsc. thanks ken!
we were looking at the poster. then suddenly we were like:
hey! isn't he the guy from 'PS I love you' ??!
didn't realise until then. swt..


about this movie: fast. action packed. good effects.
others okay okay la.. but as usual, the censoring part is shitty..
cutting all the wrong phrases and the 'supposed to be cut-ed' words: still there.
(the last time in 'Rouge Assassin', they cut the words in front and behind, but not the word itself.
and this foreigner guy behind us was laughing like shit about it. feel embarrassed for the editor )
and one scene directly skipping to the other. lame


but yea basically the movie was alright la..
better than what i expected
(no offense but i find the trailer rather.. un-appealing)

nokia n900.
has a multi desktop function, where you can have up to 4 customized screens.
means that you won't have to close your programs, can leave them all running while you do other stuffs (awesome)
even has a dashboard to view all the programs on (kind of like a task manager)
anyway. this phone is designed as a mini mobile computer la.
and the interface is sooo nice.
(finally something that actually can be compared to iphone 3gs. maybe better too?)


basically this phone punye design.. simple and square-ish (nokia's stereotype design)
typical business phone look la (hence, not slim & sleek. expensive too)
well some may think that its too bulky and boring, but i like it the way it is
looking at n900, it makes n97 look umm.. how to say..
anyway i think the point is quite clear la right.. haha..




okay so yes.. this guy does actually say the word 'desktop' a little too much.. haha
n900 is available for preorder in the states. not available here yet.
and im guessing that wont be soon either, since n97 mini is not out yet..
anyway think would be kinda pricey. looking at the functions and the US price.
time to start saving..
(and i may change my mind again. maybe. hard to say)
